Help with a 2509 Access server

Hi All,
I am trying to update the IOS on my access server and have not been having any luck. I only have a console cable and wanted to know if it was possible to do it this way similar to using the XMODEM command. I have tried and failed. seems that due to the age of the current IOS none of the commands are supported.
here is a sh ver from the router:

This is by way of xmodem and yes you should be able to use xmodem through the console port.
