Dynamips

Hi guys,

I had a quick question regarding dynamips. I'm using the Simple1 network config that I've changed to have two 3640s connected via serial 1/0 interfaces. When I checked both S1/0 controllers they show both as DCE connected. Both interfaces show as up/up and I can ping and telnet across to each router. My question is shouldn't one be set DTE? Thanks

It may be because the emulation software assumes that the DCE is somewhere in between the endpoints. It assumes that the clock source is provided. Whereas in a physical back to back connection, something has to provide clocking to facilitate synchronous communication. In real applications, the endpoint would get the clock source internally or from the line.
There is no place like 127.0.0.1 BUT 209.62.5.3 is my 127.0.0.1 away from 127.0.0.1!
