Global Catalog & Universal Group Membership Caching

I am currently hammering down this 2 AD/Replication technology M$ has, I need to find out if you guys have any reference that can go real granular as far as the technology that goes beyond this, everyone knows that anyone can configure this throught AD Sites and Services, but I wanted to undertand thouroughly on how the replication works as well the database etc.

That's a pretty broad topic. Are there any specific questions you have?

Playing around with repadmin and replmon might give you some more insight into how replication works.

What are you using to study for 294?

For 293 and 294 I'm using Trainsignal pure lab, and MS-Press, I really like Trainsignal cause it's a hands on approach, the downside is you gotta have real hardware resource, this works for me for some reason I cannot stand virtual machine.
