If I'm currently not in employment does that mean I am unable to do the exam? I don't want to start studying hard and then find out I can't do it. Do I need to be employment to take this test?

They require 2 years of security experience, but they make exceptions. They never responded to my email (even though I didn't use a free email service per their instructions), but I was able to talk to someone about my situation when I gave them a call. They said that my work experience and education are satisfactory, and I can register to take the exam. I'd just give them a call and have them evaluate your experience.
