XP Home can only use one CPU
Gundamtdk
I am reading through the 70-270 Exam Prep 2 book.
It states that XP Home can only use a single CPU core.
How how does that explain current XP Home computers running Intel Core 2 and AMD X2 dual core CPUs?
Was XP Home updated to handle dual cores?

I believe it refers to the physical CPU(s), not the core(s). As far as I know, you can have a dual or quad core CPU, just not a motherboard that allows multiple physical CPUs. I wouldn't worry about it too much. MS basically dumped Home for Media Center, and you're not going to see anything about it on the 270 (at least I didn't).
