default routing between locations
hello all kind of new here. This is not a homework question but it is job related. I have tried a few things on my own and came to see if anyone with more experience than I can provide some direction to this quesion.
I have two locations with exit points to the internet. I want to try and set one up as a primary exit point or default route to the internet and the other as a secondary. I am trying to use BGP to accomplish the failover between pri and sec. This WAN connects to a SP MPLS network. Each CE has it's own ASN. The host sites have the same AS 38 and but they are not nieighbors.
I have used route-map with the set as prepend as well as changing local prefrences. All internet bound traffic continues to route to the secondary site. I also have the default originate set under router bgp 38.
history - the 2nd site is curently the primary. Want to obivously change that.....
