upgrading a win2k mcsa

is it possible to upgrade a win2k mcsa to a win2k3 server mcsa and then upgrade that to a win2k3 mcse? i'm trying to figure out if i need to go all the way through the win2k mcse and then upgrade to 2k3 or if i can transition in the middle at the mcsa. thanks for your help.
