All,
My job needs to take over a limited set of administrative functions under SQL Server 2000. Nothing fancy, backups and run scripts provided by the vendor. I would be mad, except, since I am working on my MCSE, this will probably tie in well. So I am just starting out and have a few questions.
1) Not planning on getting ceritified on SQL Server 2k, that said, any recommended books?
2) I ran into this question, "How many named instances of SQL Server 2000 can you have?" any ideas? I would think as many as your budget and hardware can support..,
After I am done getting to speed on 2k, I need to start studying for 2k5 exam.
thanks,

2) 16 is the maximum, but you'll probably run out of system resources before then.MCSE 2003, MCSA 2003, LPIC-1, MCP, MCTS: Vista Config, MCTS: SQL Server 2005, CCNA, A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, Linux+, BSCS (Information Systems)
