I get there at around 12:15PM, my exam is scheduled for 12:30 and they tell me that the exam administrator was unable to make it today, sorry we didn't call you, you cannot take the exam. What a load of BS!!! I drove 50 miles round trip, they have my cell and home number and nothing not even on my home machine. I've tried calling Prometric, on hold infinitely and I checked their site today and it shows my exam status as "No Show"......anyone else have this happen?

Wow, I would stay on hold for as long as it takes to report this testing center. You need to make sure you get your money back or a free reschedule. Let us know how this turns out. Good luck! All things are possible, only believe. -
dabve3 Member Posts: 77 ■■□□□□□□□□I have never had that happen to me before. One time they called my house and wanted me to come in earlier because it was the day before Christmas break and I was the last person scheduled to take a test that day.
I would be really mad if that happened to me. If I were you I would keep trying to contact Prometric and demand you get your money back. That is unacceptable in my books. -
147 Member Posts: 117Does anyone know how it affects your staus / certification to have you name listed as "No Show"? That would get me angrier than anything else, and I wouldn't quit calling until someone changed that status.Fear is the absence of Faith.

dynamik Banned Posts: 12,312 ■■■■■■■■■□Does anyone know the details of the Prometric exclusivity deal? I felt that VUE was the superior provider by far, but somehow Prometric walked away with the deal. They must have agreed to administer the tests for next to nothing. I would have willingly paid an extra $20 per exam to keep my convenient test locations and the quality service I got with VUE. I've had nothing but problems with Prometric. This is what happens when there is no competition. Fortunately, it looks like all the exams I will be taking post-MS are still available with VUE. It's a sad day when you want to move away from one Vendor simply because of their exam provider.
I apologize for the tangent. Regarding the OP, stay on the phone. Talk to multiple people if you have to. I've had to call back a few times before I got someone who could answer my questions. Stay polite, but be a little assertive about the situation and see if you can get something else out of the deal. 50 miles is a lot of time and gas to waste. You should get something else out of it.
I don't understand why they couldn't administer the exam either. All they have to do is check your ID and hit "start." It's not like they have to be an expert with the material you're testing on.
147, I don't think the "No Show" shows up on your MS transcript. I believe it's just related to your Prometric account. -

When I read things like this I feel lucky. The only problem with Prometric that I've had it's just a 3 hours delay. And actually, I work in an Authorized Prometric Center so to sit for an exam I just walk less than 20 seconds.
Prometric stuff have a tendency to fail and the worst thing is that, usually, people live miles away from the testing centers. As the matter of fact, there are two testing centers in town, and despite them, the closest one it's hundreds of miles away from here.
Leaving the offtopic, I agree, keep trying to get an answer and don't give up. It's completely unacceptable that behavior from the Prometric Center. Good luck with that issue. -
Dracula28 Member Posts: 232I've fortunately never had such problems, I live in a remote place in Europe, so that might be the reason (I don't know for sure). In my city there are 3-4 prometric testing centers, so taking the test is no problem at all.
It must suck to go through what the thread starter went through, I can only imagine who frutstrating that must have been.Current certs: MCP (210) MCSA (270, 290, 291 and 680) MCTS (680, 640) -
gregrnel Member Posts: 13 ■□□□□□□□□□I got a hold of Prometric , they say I can reschedule for anytime until the end of June. I was all set to go last week, but this month taking it is going to be tough. I also have to call them and schedule, which is a major pain in the ass when compared to scheduling online. No apology either from Prometric or the exam host, Inacom Information Systems based in Madison,WI. I have to use Prometric, but Inacom can stick it! Even though my brother works for them!

noodle32 Member Posts: 5 ■□□□□□□□□□That is pretty messed up. I'd be pretty peeved too under similar circumstances. I would think that especially the way they schedule people in advance that they would be able to prepare for such an unfortunate circumstance. There's gotta be some justice in this whole situation though. I mean not even a bit of communication to you on top of that either, but I'm guessing the system automatically keeps track of the attendance, though they should've been well aware of that as well. Sorry to hear about that though. When I took my last test, the administrator was mentioning (after my pc had to be rebooted after freezing) how Prometric has been a little slow with things in so many different aspects. After hearing this it wouldn't surprise me that a lack of communication is probably quite common. They should offer some sort of discount or incentive though for the inconvienience especially if its on their behalf.

1MeanAdmin Member Posts: 157I had a similar problem. In my case the test engine crashed (time expired 2 hours early). They rescheduled me for the same exam on another day for free (which I passed).
The only problem is that my Prometric history shows "Failed" on that day and "Pass" on another, while Microsoft transcript only shows that I passed 70-290. No matter how I tried to make Prometric change their candidate history (I spoke to several supervisors; generated a complaint), several days later I was told they are unable to do it. Since Microsoft transcript only shows "Passed" status, it may not be relevant. At the same time, I passed 70-290 with 885 on the FIRST try and that's how I expect Prometric to show it!
