The MCSE is just an extension of the MCSA. The only thing you have to keep an eye on is the electives because the MCSA has some that cannot be applied to the MCSE.
The MSCE requires 7 tests to achieve. The MCSA requires 4 of those 7 tests (a couple of exceptions because of electives) to achieve. So usually, once you do 4 tests and get an MCSA it only takes 3 more tests to get your MCSE.
