So I finally broke down and took the 70-270 this morning. 900/1000. I don't think any amount of additional study would have helped for this test.
The questions I know I got wrong were so random. Many of them I looked up in the up in the Sybex and Microsoft books and they were not covered, or at least not enough so that you could answer the question. I used a lot of process of elimination.
The SIM was laughably bad and the style of it was not covered by any of the listed testing products. I felt like the level of importance on security templates, IIS and the ICF from earlier service packs was not stressed enough in the material.
Took me about an hour to complete the test, they give you more than enough time, I didn’t feel rushed at all like I did with Cisco.
I used...
Microsoft Press
Sybex
Ran every lab in both books
CBTNuggets
TestOut
www.vtc.com
Transender
This site
Microsoft Virtual PC
I have about 2.5 years experience with XP working at Geek Squad, a help desk and now as an application admin. It took me about 6 months. Not sure if I went overboard on this or what. I am going try and get by with less for the 70-290.
I am celebrating with a ice cold Jolt cola I bought myself December!

290 has a lot of overlap with 270, so you should get through it a bit quicker.
Also, congrats on the pass -
