Volume License Key vs. Retail CD

You have the volume license key but don't have the Windows XP CD.

You go out and buy a retail CD and find out the license key doesn't work with the retail CD.

Is there such thing as a Windows XP made for Volume License keys?

There is a purchasable volume license key for Windows XP. It is how corporations distribute Windows XP to thousands of desktops.

I would edit your post and remove the 2nd and 3rd line of your post due to your agreement to not distribute information about the test.

Yes, in our company we signed up to VLK, in turn we can download any Microsoft sotware from their site (usualy in ISO form so we can burn it to CD for installs etc) that can be used in conjuction with the VLKs. We then tell MS how many copies of each peice of software we have installed and pay the fee on an annual basis. (well there is a little more to the finances than that but no need go into all that!)
