The major benefits of certification in any geographical location are education, demonstration of interest in specific subjects of IT, and meeting the requirements for jobs offered by employers. I personally believe that both Cisco's technology and wireless networks will be desired by many businesses world-wide for many years to come. As for businesses specifically in Africa, you will need to check your local job postings to see what skills, education, and experience employers there are asking for.
