Question about vmplayer
I have windows XP installed in a vmplayer on my PC. And from what I understand, when you set the interface to "bridge" it should pull an Ip address from your DHCP server right?
I have set my network properties to obtain Ip address from DHCP and set the interface to bridge but it is still not receiving an IP address from the DHCP I have running on my router.
What am I doing wrong?

It's not from the player docs, but it still applies.
Can you access network resources if you manually configure an IP address? That'll indicate whether or not it's a DHCP issue or if it's a VMWare network configuration issue.
