hey guys, I loaded an IOs image from a TFTP server onto this router and am getting this when the router boots, My thinking is that the image is to large for the memory I have but I wasn't sure why it let me load the image and the checksum was fine if the router can't handle it?

Even most 12.2 images will not run on 24MB ram. Upgrade your ram to 64MB
and you'll be able to run any image for the 2610 if you have 16MB flashThere is no place like 127.0.0.1 -
Paul Boz Member Posts: 2,620 ■■■■■■■■□□When you boot the router it will show you how much installed memory the chassis has. Once you know that, get the router into rommon mode by doing the following:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/474/pswdrec_2600.shtml
Then type "dir flash:" to see the size of the installed images.rommon 1 > dir flash:
File size Checksum File name
5358032 bytes (0x51c1d0) 0x7b16 c2600-i-mz.122-10b.bin
rommon 2 >
Odds are you either partially installed an image that's too large or it's corrupted. I'd install the old IOS just to get it back to stable then get a version of IOS that your router can support. Follow the "Using TFTP to download IOS to the router" link near the bottom of the page which I linked you to for instructions on how to delete the installed IOS image and install a new one. Use TFTP if possible, it's pretty fast and painless.CCNP | CCIP | CCDP | CCNA, CCDA

dtlokee Member Posts: 2,378 ■■■■□□□□□□You may have done a "copy tftp flsah" and it copied the file to a file named "flsah". I have that problem with students who use "copy tftp running-configuration" then end up erasing the fpash on the rotuer. The only easy day was yesterday!

arden Member Posts: 9 ■□□□□□□□□□If you have a TFTP server handy you can still boot larger images of TFTP. I often run 12.3 2600 XM images on my non XM 2600's so i can play with IPv6. Instructions can be found here:
http://www.internetworkexpert.com/resources/tftpdnld.htm
Give it a shot and let me know if you have any problems, i'm happy to help! -

I didn't notice you were in rommon, you can use the tftpdnld command to reload an image.

His issue is that there is not enough RAM in the router to boot the image (only 24mb) so booting from a TFTP server isn't going to allow him to run the larger image. The only easy day was yesterday! -
aueddonline Member Posts: 611 ■■□□□□□□□□hey thanks for the doc, they are petty good the cisco docs I wasn't a fan to start with mainly because they were a bit like information overload but i'm being turned.
I managed to put an older image on 12.0-4(T) something like that, I remember having to do this before when I enterered the command 'erase flash' when I was doing the CCNA
