windows or vendor's software?
My A+ book explains how to partition and format a hard drive using windows, and also mentions using the vendor's software to do this as well. I was under the impression that you should always use the vendors software for this task, but the book seems to only mention it as an afterthought. What is the correct way to partition and format? Using Windows, or using the vendor's software?

Although I don't remember the last time I partitioned a harddrive. (and there was a time that the best tool in the land was fdisk. The days that using Staker to double your harddrive space from 20MB to 40MB was considered "advanced" )Exquisite as a lily, illustrious as a full moon,
