CCNA noob

I am a total noob to CCNA and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good study resource for the exam. I have the CCNA book by: Todd Lammle 6th ed. Does anyone suggest any other study guides/resources that may help out.

Also:

I graduate soon with a B.A. in Economics; would a CCNA cert. make my resume more attractive (i'm assuming it would).

also, what is a salary range for someone in this field (IT, networking etc), and maybe some possible career paths I could take?

If anyone could share some experiences that would be amazing help for me. Thank you.

cheers

The Lamie book is excellent. The CCNA has a steep learning curve. It would be exceptionally helpful if you have access to actual equipment. If not, your best bet is to get an IOS file and GNS-3(www.gns3.net). The basics will be OSI/TCP-IP layers, switch basics, router basics, IOS, routing protocols(RIP, OSPF, EIGRP).
