2950 switch question

I am studying for the CCENT and finally got my first piece of equipment, a 2950 switch. I have never really been around one of these before and I noticed that when I fire it up, the fan noise is pretty noticable as compared to a PC, but not really screaching loud. Is this normal or is the fan laboring? Do you have to take these apart and clean out the dust every once in a while like a PC or are they pretty durable?

Usually they are decently quiet. Noisy fans can be replaced though. My 2912-xl-en has replaced fans and it is a bit noisy. I put my Shure E2C's in and I cannot hear it anymore.
