I ran into a question that asked what is specific about a global command and it said that the answer was:
A command that is available in every release of IOS, regardless of the version or deployment status.
I thought the answer was a command that is set once and effects the entire router.
The explanation for the answer not being the one that effects the entire router is that it said the interface config may overwrite global config parameter.
Does anyone know for sure what the answer to the question is.
thanks,
sunshine.

Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminYour answer is correct. The fact that the interface config may overwrite global config parameters, doesn't change the fact that global config commands are meant to effect the entire router.
The answer they give as correct is absolute nonsense. There are plenty of global config commands that do not exist in 'all' IOS versions.
