70-215 Exam

Hey guys, First, I am not asking for a braindump.
Does the exam focus heavily on RIS? The material I am studying with is
focusing on RIS a great deal and it is kinda concerning. Do I need to heavily focus on RIS or just an above general Idea of how it works and how to use it?

You need to be aware of it and how it works. Also the services that need to be installed (AD, DNS, DHCP, DHCP Relay). You'll really get hit much harder with it on the 217 test. Be prepared to troubleshoot failed RIS installations, easy stuff like no DHCP Relay or when to boot your client from a disk instead of NIC card, stuff like that. Also know that the RIS server has to be authorized before it will service clients.

I didn't know just how extensive they were going to go.
I am starting to see that most of these exams are slow building in the previous exam and then hit harder for the next exam. So they might ask a few questions about general understanding of DHCP in the 215, then in the 217 they expect an in depth understanding of it.
