Frame relay lab

Hi everyone,

im putting together my lab and have decided against buying a 2500 frame relay because of some high prices on ebay in the UK recently!

Anyway i have 4 routers already for my lab. 1x3600 2x2612 1x2610.

in the 3600 i have 2 wic2t cards and the rest have 1 wic1t card. my question - could i use the 3600 as a frame relay router using the wic2t cards? So the lab would consist of the 3 2600's connecting to the frame relay?

and if i can do that when buying SS to db60 cables ive heard that the db60 HAS to be the clock rate end? is this so? and if it is, is there any reason why?

i assume i could use the 3600 for frame relay but i thought i better ask before i buy those expensive SS to db60 cables ! £10 each!

Cheers

Yes you can do it that way. You would want the DCE end on the frame-relay switch (your smart serial connections) although it does not need to be done that way. This is better in that you don't reconfigure the frame switch so it saves steps when you build the network since the clock rate is already set.
