For a broadcast domain it means anyone (any pc) on a particular network segment that would receive a broadcast if sent.
for instance
5 pc's plugged into 1 hub. if 1 pc sends a broadcast the other 4 will receive it.
5 pc's plugged into 1 switch. if 1 pc sends a broadcast the other 4 will receive it.
5 pc's plugged into 1 switch in LAN A connected to LAN B via a router. Routers can (and do )prevent broadcasts from being sent from 1 network segment to the other(s). Therefore, if a PC on LAN A sends a broadcast, only his fellow mates on LAN A will receive it, the folks on LAN B will not. Same thing vice a versa.
Try to post about a collision domain in a bit, I have kids wrecking the house and have to get back lol. Hope this helps!
