Hi,
I'm new to this forum, just want to say thanks for the great material on this site.
I have my 70-270 exam in 3 days time, and my 70-290 a week later.
I bought the 70-270 practice exam for Transcender, and got a 86%, and found it surprisingly straight forward. I thought it was going to be much harder. (Also is 86% a pass haha ??)
For training i took the instructor led courses, 2274, 2275, and 2285 (It is part of package deal im doing with an IT cert company.) the Sybex 70-270 book, and CBT nuggets.
How similar is the actual exam to the Transcender ones?
Thanks alot.

Just be sure you can explain why each possible answer is either correct or incorrect. It will help you learn the material better. Good luck with your exams.

bwcarty Member Posts: 422 ■■■□□□□□□□I've been doing things in a weird order (291, then 290, then 227), but the last two tests I've taken, I passed almost exclusively with CBT Nuggets (following along with my VMware test lab) and Transcender.
With Transcender, I always use the "Optimize Exam Experience" option with the option set to remove questions after I get them right twice. From there, I do all of the questions in one section, review the answers for the ones I got wrong or flagged for review during the test, then move on to another section. After completing all the sections, I'll go back and do them again and again until all the questions have been removed. After a while, it's hard not to just answer them based on memorizing the questions, but as long as you know why the answer is correct, you'll generally do well on the real test.Help eradicate blood cancers with a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. -

The last bit there about memorizing questions in practice exams is so true. I found that there is a way to help with this though. The first time you take a practice test, review the ones you got wrong and copy the main theme of the question to a document. From there re-write the explanation in your own words... This means of course, that you have to understand the explanation. If one is not given then you have a bit of extra research to do.
I find that with this technique, I will come up to a question that I already know the answer to because, like you said, it's hard not to memorize that, but now when I see that answer I also remember why that is the answer. It does really help to re-write the explanation, especially in your own words.[/b] -
