Windows setup error on a mac system
dipok
I am trying to install windows xp pro on a macnotebook. But, after all the files are created, I am facing disk error. I got the following troubleshooting from Mac site:
After creating a Windows partition in Boot Camp 2.0 in Mac OS X 10.5, then rebooting from the Windows XP installer CD, be sure that you format the Windows partition before continuing with the rest of the Windows XP setup process.
I did exactly the same, however, facing the same problem. Why is that?

I believe there's a pretty good disk utility on the MacOS CD. You might want to try running that to see if it can repair anything. I've seen my coworkers do that on their machines to fix some quirky problems. I believe it's accessible by booting off of the OS CD. I can't give you step-by-step instructions since I'm not a Mac guy, and I'm not really familiar with it. That might give you some direction though.

Did you actually format the Windows partition first? Maybe this will help.
