Segmenting a LAN

I inherited a pretty messy network, IP address all over the show.
I would like to segment the network so all my cisco gear is on a management VLAN and the server guy would like to do the same.
Is it preferred to have two networks, one for cisco stuff and the other for servers. Or is it ok to put them both together...

Management, even with snmp traps and syslogs, doesn't generate a large amount of traffic. You'd be fine to create one management vlan/network for all management traffic... both cisco- and server-related.
Hey du... great links. Bookmarked the IOS link... some useful stuff there.

I guess i thought that the native and management VLAN was the same thing.
For example i was just going to change the address on VLAN 1 (native VLAN) to the new IP address and thats it. -
mattsthe2 Member Posts: 304ohh i forgot to mention that every port practically lives in VLAN 1 also.
