in CCNA & CCENT
I ahve already started the Network+ so its no practical use asking which one to go for: CCENT or N+. But can you just tell me the differences or whatever for a person who has just started off?
Now onto the main question:
After finishing the Network+ should I go for the CCENT or CCNA? I highly doubt I will have any real routers to fiddle around with so I will be using simulators.
Would it be a good idea to self study for the N+ and then the CCENT and then go back and give the N+ exam? What I am trying to say is that would it be a good idea to prepare for a higher cert and then give the lower cert. Maybe in this way the low level cert's concepts will sink in more effectively in this way?

The Net+ exam is a good groundwork for any other networking course you would take. It's better to build from the ground up. Also, CCNET is vendor-specific, it's pretty much focused on Cicso equipment. Net+ is just a broad overview of a lot of networking technologies and theories. If you get your Net+ cert, then a lot of the topics will probably come up again in your CCNET studies. Hope that helps!

If the CCNA helps you feel comfortable, then so be it, but it is unlikely your CCNA study will help you with the Net+ is you have already studied the Net+.

CiscoCerts Member Posts: 112I would finish studying up for the Net+ using Net+ materials only. Then go take the Net+ after you're all done with that when you continue on to CCENT (I recommend taking that first instead of the CCNA composite) You will notice a good deal of overlap and that'll give you a head start into the cisco proprietary studies.
