Hi all,

Does anyone know if there's a bug ID for this problem? We're running IOS 12.2(44)SE.

The problem is best visualised.

See: http://i25.tinypic.com/309lesx.jpg

...

The culprit is an Australian possum -- you'll note the missing power cable from the switch lowest in the stack, and the precariously positioned leads on the power strip. That's how we were first alerted to the, er, problem.

Probably should've been running "service anti-possum enable"

cheers!
Dale

nice! yes, those power plugs have no retention - a failure in the design specs when they were first envisaged. some with IEC power icon_neutral.gif

read the changelog - Cisco revised this command in 12.2(30)SB1

no service possum

PS If not used, i'd advise using the blanking plate to cover those DC connectors - you never know when a stray cable might enter....

Is it just me, or are others on the list getting daily requests from complete strangers along the lines of "I saw your post to cisco-nsp about a particular IOS version...could you send me a copy of that IOS?"

Ok...maybe it's not daily...but I have gotten two in the past two days.

For those who haven't asked yet, I'll save you some time. The answers are "no", and "if you want an IOS upgrade, talk to cisco."

You mean the possum service is enabled by default? I thought we had to enable it with

service no possum
