I tried installing the default licence that came with unity but I am still having some issues. Does anybody know what it is?

What does it say under alerts?

Have you verified the license file was copied?

Did you try any of the Unity Licensing solutions that involved registering the AvLicAdmSvr.dll or running dcomcnf (definitely check the security tab for the correct account access)? Did you check that all the services are running?

Is Unity installed on a supported server or VMWare? Version?

+1 for checking services and running dcomcnf

I got something similar when I messed up 4.1 install but found out lic service was stopped for some reason...

is the dcomcnf run from the command line? and the lic services started in windows services.msc?

I think its dcomcnfg at the command prompt or run prompt, and services.msc for the services window.

Otherwise just navigate to Administrative Tools > Component Management or Services

For dcom under Component Management go to Computers > My Computer >DCOM Config

But what you want to do depends on what's causing the problem -- was it a service issue, or was there another error listed under the Alerts section from your first post.
