It used to be a great internet technology, but time's have changed and getting a simple Cable Modem or xDSL connection perform's better for straight internet usage.

ohh.. so on a t-1 when downloading a file, the download rate will be 192kB/s

i would have thought the t-1 would be faster than my roadrunner, but again, i though the t-1 download rate was 1.544MB/s not Mb.

but my roadrunner provides 5mb of bandwidth, so that around 625KB/s. thats pretty cool. I learned something today.

Why is t-1 around here like 300 bucks per month, but its slower than cable internet like roadrunner which is 44 bucks per month??

Its a leased line. Same speed up and down. There will be a better SLA on the T1. No contention usually.
