isn't a meter bigger than a yard

I used to play golf a lot and used to hate when they put the distance in meters, turned my 250yard drive into 225 meters

I played rugby once, for practice. Yeah I got hurt a lot. Long story short, I dislocated my shoulder and didn't play again.

You may be right! I ran an online converter and 71 metres came out at 77 yards.
