The interview is for a lead internet engineer position and things went very well. The interviewer even said at the end of the interview that he looks forward to working with me. Currently waiting to find out if I get a second interview

Are they paying for the move? Make sure they through in some extra money for a nice warm coat!
Good luck!
Unfortuntely they are not paying for the move if I get the job, but with the salary that I would be getting it will double what I am currently making, so it's worth it.
Dynamik, I see that you are in MN, does it really get all that cold?"Bribe is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. The X makes it sound cool."

MN hit a record -40 degrees this winter. Have fun!
HOLY HELL -40 !! I grew up in wyoming and so it got pretty cold there, but very rarly got that cold. I think I remember one time where it got in the -30's and it just hurt to breath outside! So I suppose this freezing hell over weather comes with some serious snow too. I should probably think about trading in my car for a 4x4 if I get this job."Bribe is such an ugly word. Definately, but try to get one that's not a gas guzzler. At $3.50 a gallon it's like buying milk from the grocery store to fill your car.All things are possible, only believe. -

Us Brits cry at quotes like that. I wish petrol here was $3.50 a gallon. Then I'd have a fleet of Ferrari's, Bugatti's and Rolls Royces. Well maybe not, but you get my point
Good luck on that job btwThe trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never tell if they are genuine - Abraham Lincoln -
dynamik Banned Posts: 12,312 ■■■■■■■■■□Keep in mind that -40 is before the wind. It probably felt around -80, maybe lower. The temp is something to strongly consider it if you haven't experienced it before. That was an extreme though. There was a 3-4 week patch of time that the morning temp fluctuated between 0 and -15. The shorter days also can negatively affect some people as well (SAD).
I don't think you need a 4x4. I've driven a Corolla for years. The main roads are salted/sanded and cleared pretty well, so you shouldn't have a problem in the metro area. Everyone crawls along at around 10-15mph in bad weather, so it's really not that bad. Just don't be stupid and take it easy until you get used to it. Even people who have lived here for years drive like idiots during the first snow or two each year. That's when you should really stay off the road. You're probably more likely to be hit than get in an accident yourself
