IIS

I'm very close to finally doing this exam now, the thing that's really bugging me is IIS, there's hardly anything in my two study guides covering this subject and yet I've heard that it will more than likely crop up in the exam, it's certainly come up in practice exams, how frustrating!

So my question is, what kind of questions are likely to be asked relating to IIS?

Cheers,

Richard

We can't tell you what kind of questions they are going to ask about IIS due to the NDA.

What study guides are you using? There should be sufficient enough information about it. If not, then look at some of the sites on the web like mcmcse.com techtutorials.com itidiots.com windowsnetworking.com and find some articles on it.

I would suggest labbing up your own IIS server as not only is it a good thing to know for the exam it is also a good thing to know for the real world.

I appreciate that, I'm not against studying hard and would never use **** sheets or anything of that nature, every other subject seems to be covered in great detail bar IIS, very annoying.

I'm using the MS Press book and Exam Cram 2 along with Transcender.

That should be great. Just try to get yourself very familiar with IIS and setup some websites that you can access different ways before you do the IIS questions in transcenders. I basically recommend to learn every option in the properties tab of a website in IIS and backups. That should be sufficient. And remember that IIS in Windows XP is different than IIS in windows 2003.

    Good luck.

The Technotes here are quite good:

In particular I would concentrate on IIS Permissions and Security, also the use of Port / Host Header Allocation for Web Sites.
