Slipstreaming XP3

Well I figured i'd post a nice little blog in progress here.
Currently I just tried to slipstream XP SP3 RTM 5512 into an XP2 VLK image and I've manage
to complete it and after testing on VMWare desktop, it yielded the wrong product key, which
I know works perfect.
So I looked up the issue and found out there is a known issue where you cannot slipstream XP3
in vista. Go figure...
So I freshly tried it again on my laptop and with the same result. Invalid key. So Apparenly I'm
guessing that you cannot slipstream XP SP3 while running XP SP3 as well.
So now I've resorted to running XP SP2 in a vmware desktop and im trying this one last time.
I'll post the outcome.

Sie Member Posts: 1,195What are you using to slipstream the Service Pack in this instance?
Appears there are quite a few instances of this problem when looking through Google.
Are you extracting the service pack with the -x switch and then using /intergrate?Foolproof systems don't take into account the ingenuity of fools -

Download the sp3 exe and extract the iso i386 folder to c:\xpcd
then use the /integrate:c:\xpcd to integrate the sp into the i386 folder, then slap the i386 folder
back into the iso, and burn it. works greatThere is no place like 127.0.0.1 -
