IIS

I was just wondering if anybody uses IIS at there workplace or do they actually use a dedicated web server?

    We use IIS for OWA but that's pretty much it.

    Yes, most of my clients use IIS for a web server.

    Then again, I work for Microsoft zealots, so... icon_lol.gif

    I have seen both IIS and apache, however the number of apache instances I have seen greatly out number the IIS instances... But then again that is just my experience.
    encrypt the encryption, never mind my brain hurts.

    I think a lot of it depends on your needs. We use it internally here because Windows integration streamlines things a bit, and we're small organization, so it can on a machine that's also a file-server. I'd strongly consider Apache if it was just a stand-alone machine out on the internet. However, the Core version of 2008 would also be something to consider.

    We run about 4 high volume websites from IIS on Dell PowerEdge 2950 w/ Server 2003 and the CPUs are never taxed. We've also never have a security breach through the web server.
