Chips anyone?

I noticed that Meyers' book doesn't cover specific motherboard chipsets, I am familiar with the architecture of the motherboard, but should I know my chipsets for the exam?

In a short answer ...... nope

It doesn't hurt to have an understanding of them, but there are too many chipsets for each processor to be able to learn properly.

Yeah, perhaps I am taking to technical of an approach to exam preparation. In essence, overstudying. Thanks for the advice.

the two books i bought for the a+ detailed the chipsets of p1 to p3 motherboards. i did not get questioned on them.

knowing which cpu require which sockets and what kind of ram can be found on the motherboardsis useful, if not for the exam, but for working in the field.
