Inexpensive but effective backup image solution.
We are currently using Ghost 9.0... Nothing but great stuff to say about the product.
The only downside we are having is the following.
I need to be able to do a full image backup to a removable media device nightly and overwrite that backup file each night.
I have all the mission critical data backed up and that always works just fine. However, I need a way to get windows back to its state the night before so i can drop the mission critical data back in and get the customer back up and running within an hour.
These are basically application servers on Windows XP SP2, Raid 1, Iomega tape backup devices.
I tried acronis, but their restore option seems clunky and time consuming. I dont want to deal with floppy or cd restore options. I simply want to be able to take my laptop to customers site having the problem, turn down the server, disconnect the problem drives, use the image from the tape backup and restore it back to the customers problem hard drive using ghost.
Usually a 20min process if we have a good image.
