831 SOHO fastE no encap on -if? what gives?

hey dudes

i have my 831 soho and i want to conifg it to do router on a stick..
do i just run a command switchport mode trunk on the switch and
will the 831 auto detect like a dot1q or sorts???

I has fastE and can set to full-duplex but didnt see any encap dot1q or encap isl????

Don't think its supported on a 831.

thanks maybe I can use Dynamips/GNS3 and do it that way huh?
