restoring windows Vista from a backup

I was using my windows vista computer in Domain for my studies and I had created a backup for my system before joining the pc to the domain so that I could always use go back and use that once I had finished my studies and I am trying to restore my computer back to how it was before joining the domain but the the only options available are just up to 1 week old. Is there a way I can use the restore I created and saved on dvd 2 months ago. It was just the partial restore not the complete pc backup. If it was the complete pc backup I would have just restored to complete restore.

I would like to restore it using the backup on the dvd that I created.

It depends on what kind of backup you have done. When joining a computer to the domain the only way you are going to restore that back to the original configuration is by imaging the machine or taking a bare metal backup.
