Backup question

I have to computers. Both are setup and ready to go. I want to back up the data on one and restore it to the other PC. Do I need to backup the system state data as well?

I would image it if thats the case and install the image on the other machine.

Note if your backing up the one machine to restore it later then yes I would backup the system state aswell. It would include all the OS settings etc and save you re-installing / configuring those.
