Remote Desktop Connection

Hi,
When connecting to a remote PC, on a remote computer, I am supposed to "allow users to connect remotely". Is it a must???
If we are talking about Remote Assistance I do not need to do it, right? Because when clicking on the invitation I am automaticlly authorized to connect to a remote computer. Is it ok what I think to myself now?
Thanks,
Banderas
