EFS

Hi,

XP allows multiple users to access to encrypted files, why not folders?

Thanks,

Sorry I dont understand the question....

XP allows the encryption at a file or folder level and unless your assigned a recovery agent or certificate the files etc wont be visable for mulitple users.....

Encrypted files are the same as normal files if You are asking about NTFS permissions.

You can encrypt folders in Windows XP just like you can files. Just right click on the folder and select properties, then click on the advanced tab. There you will see an option to "Encrypt contents to secure data" Once you encrypt a file/folder the names will turn green. If that encrypt option is not available then it is either disabled in Group Policy or some other reason.
    Working on: MCSA 2012 R2
