Restore Point and Last Good Known

Hi,
If a problem is related to applications, then I should apply Restore Point and if the issue is related to registry, LGK is used. Is it correct?
Sometimes it is impossible to know what our problem is related to... What then?
Thanks

It will roll back the registry to the state it was in the last time you booted successfully. A Restore Point would be used if you are able to boot but something in the registry is corrupted or some system files have been corrupted. You are still able to boot, at least in safe mode, but you need to roll back to a known good working time. It may not have been in your previous boot it may be from several days ago. That is a prime candidate for System Restore. It is also a great way to roll back Windows Updates that do not apply properly and refuse to uninstall.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/
