Does it matter what company I go through? Is there a difference in the tests?

Some exams can only be taken at either a promentic or vue center. Others can be taken at both. I don't prefer one over another

Same test just different company. Check who has a center closer to you. If the distance doesn't matter then personally I would go with VUE. I've had great experiences with them and while nothing bad has happened with Prometric (yet) there are lots of horror stories around that just make me a little bit wary.

About half of the test centers in Vancouver are both - no choice needed :)

I think this might be the exception though.

For CompTIA, it doesn't matter which testing center you go to. The vendor, (in this case, CompTIA,) creates the exam, and the testing centers are only authorized to administer the tests. In the case of Microsoft and Cisco, though, you're locked into one testing center or another. Microsoft only allows Prometric to administer their tests, while Cisco went with Vue.
