Hi Guys
I need some help from the experts. Can you please tell me the steps that i need to follow to upgrade my IOS on the 2610 Cisco router to 12.4. Also it would be helpful if you can tell me where can i get IOS 12.4.

I don't think you can run 12.4 on 2610. it does not have enough ram/flash

You may be able to load a small 12.4 image intended for a 2600XM onto a maxed out plain 2600. Obviously not a great solution since you need to TFTP boot the thing from ROMMON every single time and there is a very high chance of it crashing due to lack of memory.
As to where to get a 12.4 image, go look on cisco.com

Install a flavor of 12.3. The memory requirements will be a lot lower and the core features are still exactly the same. There aren't a ton of differences between 12.3 and 12.4 that will snag you.

If you or your employer have an account with Cisco, you can look up IOS images based on the router model and it will show what versions are available to you. Otherwise, you're rather limited in what you can get to upgrade.
