First and fore most my post is not strictly about an exam or the SQL 2005 server.
Part of an assignment I have been given before I take the 431 course work is to design a ERD based on the information that I have been given. I was looking at doing the diagram in word, but before I start anyone recommend another type of software that I could use to complete this task?

If you have a copy of Visual Studio 2005 TE you can use Visio for Enterprise Architects or whatever its called these days which will allow you do diagram the database and then automatically create the associated database.
