Looking at two 2620 routers. One has 1 WIC card installed and the other has two, but for a little more money. Currently have two 2501. Trying to decide which one would be best. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your input.

    Hi,

I'll go for the 2620 with FE ports, what wic's did you say they have installed?, you'll need wic-1t to do some PPP labs.

    Hope this help. icon_wink.gif

All other things being equal (memory and/or IOS version) I'd get the one with more WIC cards and then make the 2620 the frame-relay switch. Put both 2500's in the back of the 2620 and pretend the 2620 is the service provider.

You can also add WIC cards later, too.

What's the memory and flash of each 2620?

What are the WICs that are installed? A single WIC-1T would probably beat 2 BRI WICs since ISDN isn't covered in the exams anymore. It's hard to advise which would be better without knowing what they are.

What IOS versions do they come with? Do you already have a bigger/better IOS version?

Are the prices the same? different? How much are they -- they both could be drastically overpriced for all we know.

They both have WIC-1t cards. The router with one WIC card is about $80 including shipping and the one with Two WIC cards is about $110 including shipping. Not exactly sure about the software version yet.
