Can anyone give me some information on the anitvirus software called AVG from Grisoff? Has anyone used this software and if so what is your opinion? Also, if you have any other recommendations on antivirus software I would appreciate it. TIA.

I use NOD32 and it works well. It isn't hugely bloated like Norton and is quick in operation. The various tests have said thta it is good at picking up on a selection of viruses and malware.

From what I've read, people seem to be generally happy with AVG but I've no idea with performance and whether they're running the free or commerical versions. One bad point about AVG is that they've included a new thing called Linkscanner now which will automatically prescan all links on a search result page and thats screwing over website owners stats and bandwidth. Not really a concern if you're not a website owner...

I have used NOD32 and I like it quite a bit. I ended up not renewing its subscription when I switched to Blink from eEye, which has Authentium's Command Antivirus integrated.

I like Avira's AntiVir Removal Tool, which is their A/V tool on a bootable CD. Malware removal has a better chance of being successful if the computer is not currently booted from the disk being cleaned.
