Just wanted to say hello and I hink this is by far one of the best sites on the net 
. I have a question... The company I work for is looking to hire a company to provide maintaince for our Novell and windows servers and wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions. We currently have a senior tech but he may have to leave for family reasons and I mostly provide desktop support (NO SERVER EXPERIENCE).
Would this be a viable option until I get more comfortably with the system?
Any suggestions for a company based in NYC and what would the going rate be for something like this?

This is a great option. Hiring someone else to come in and help out is a good idea for you and for the company. However I would make sure to inform management that you want to be the contractor's buddy so you can learn the ropes.
No idea how much money it would be in NYC. I'm going to shoot for 5000 dollars a hour just to be pessimistic.
