I thought this one was pretty good, too. The same exact phrase I said when the announcement first came out a year or so ago. Like him or hate him, Mr. Gates brought us to a whole new world when he grabbed Big Blue by the scrotum and convinced them to sign on the dotted line. For every BSoD, for every crash, for every little annoyance, there have been bigger leaps forward (by both Microsoft and their competitors) than even Neil Armstrong made on big ball of cheese in the sky. In the end, most of us wouldn't be in this industry if it weren't for Microsoft. After all, how many of us would have taken the time to become programmers, engineers, and mathematicians, on top of being computer geeks, in order to enjoy computers and networking techology? Eh. . . besides me, that is.

Thank you, Bill, for kicking this industry in the ass, and kept kicking us right down the road to where we are today. You'll always be the #1 uber-geek, no matter who comes in to fill your shoes.

Hm....its really hard to predict....but interesting will Microsoft continue the same strategy..or somehow change? that's question well, life will show.

I'm excited to see to see all that his foundation will do in the future now that he'll have time to concentrate more on that. It's just mind blowing knowing how much money he has and will be giving a lot of it away and make a real change in the world.
