Hard drives suck...

in SQL Server exams
Just wanted to share this with you guys. Spent hours yesterday installing Server 2003 and updating it on two test lab machines. I then installed SQL 2005 and got log shipping going - I was just about to try mirroring when my HDD on the primary server crashed. Ran chkdsk /r and got that lovely message "one or more unrecoverable errors."

Just wanted to share this with someone. Hours down the drain... icon_sad.gif

    Sorry to hear that. Consider it a "reinforcement excersize" rather than time down the drain. icon_wink.gif

    Insert generic "you should have used 'automated system recovery' " joke here - of course joke being the contradiction in the name and its actual behaviour.

    I still cant believe 2k3 server doesnt have legitimate built in imaging tool. crash.gif
